Partnership is the key.

When you donate to a specific fund, 100% of those funds go to the place directed. But all non-profits have overhead costs so how are those covered? When donors give to the General Fund, we use those funds to cover our very small overhead operating expenses. Touch Nepal operates on under 10% overhead and there is no paid staff. Our primary costs involve donor processing fees, website fees, other bank fees, Quickbooks fees, year end donations receipts, mailing and other promotional types of fees. We don't "do lunch" on donors money. We don't rent a big expensive office. We don't do this for us. We do all this for them. So it's a partnership of those who give to the General Fund and those who specifically direct their funds. But both types of donors work hand in hand to keep Touch Nepal operating healthy.
