A REAL BIBLE SEMINARY IN HETAUDA, NEPAL
THE NEED FOR A SEMINARY in the HEART OF THE TERAI.
Hetauda Evangelical Seminary (HES), now named Nepal Evangelical Seminary (NES) opened it's doors to biblically train and educated students. Before then, opportunities for young students to receive solid biblical training existed only if they had the money and time to move to Kathmandu Valley. For the vast majority who wanted biblical training this is close to impossible. Hetauda is the location of Nepal Evangelical Seminary and is a key city in the terai or plains area of Nepal. Hetauda and Kathmandu are separated by a difficult to navigate central mountain range with Hetauda being closer to the India border. Life in the terai is much slower and significantly different than the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, the countries capitol. Training students in their home region is significantly important.
“We didn’t have problems sending students to get training in Kathmandu, we had problems getting them to return to the Terai to use their training”

“We saw how crucial the need was for training in the Terai. We knew we needed to purchase land in order to build a permanent training site and we answered that call.”
Touch Nepal with other key ministry partners such as Clear Creek Charts and others, partnered to purchase the land that Nepal Evangelical Seminary (NES) and Nepal Evangelical Church (NEC) resides on today. Purchasing this land has been an important part in securing the future of biblical training in the terai.
Nepal Evangelical Seminary (NES) is fulfilling the important space between the desire of students to receive training and receiving that training in the terai plains area where they live. Graduates receive in depth, two year course education and their Certificate in Theology. Since its inception, Nepal Evangelical Seminary (NES) has graduated approximately eighty five students! Please help build up the next generation of biblically equipped leaders in Nepal by answering the call as well.
